Second Baptist Church of Riverside will host national Evangelist Manuel Scott, Jr. on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at both the 7:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. church services.  Evangelist Scott is the first seminary-trained, full-time evangelist on a national scale coming out of the Black Baptist Church.  Evangelist Scott graduated from UCLA with a BA in 1971, obtained his Masters of Divinity Degree in 1975 from Princeton Theological Seminary, and was accepted into the PhD program at Claremont School of Theology.  He has written over 60 printed lectures which include such titles as: "I'm Too Blessed To Be Stressed," "What The Bible Says About Worship and Praise," "What A Difference A Daddy Makes," "How To Inspire And Organize Youth In The Urban Church," and "Church Evangelism According To Christ."  Evangelist Scott believes that the Gospel has the power to save, free, change, and heal anyone, regardless of race, creed, color or denomination.  More information about Evangelist Manuel Scott, Jr. can be found on his website www.manuelscottjr.org.  Second Baptist Church of Riverside invites members of the community to join us for "Evangelist Scott Day," an opportunity to hear a dynamic and spirit-filled preacher with a powerful message.

Second Baptist Church of Riverside's Rev. Nathan Smith Scholarship Ministry will also host a career day on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  The Career Day will take place in the Fellowship Hall.  The youth of SBCR as well as the community are invited to attend this valuable event.
