The story of a young man from Compton falling back in time and joining a "Harriet Tubman" escape was presented by the office of Afrikan Student Programs at UCR in celebration of Martin Luther King's birthday. Attending the capacity-crowd performance were: Chancellor France Cordova, Fontana Councilmember Acquanetta Warren, Rialto Councilmember Winnie Hansen, and Rialto Schoolboard member Joanne Gilbert.

The play, written by UCR Professor of Theater Rickerby Hinds, was written to be performed in community venues and utilizes community and student actors. In 2004, the play was selected as part of the National Park Services "Network to Freedom" because of its education and outreach potential.
