The San Bernardino City Unified School District has once again joined with local businesses to provide students the opportunity to experience the working world first hand on Job Shadowing Day Wednesday, October 23.
Job Shadowing Day allows high school students to gain real-world knowledge and experience in a career of their choice by pairing them with local business and industry employees, who they shadow for the day. For some students, the experience helps reinforce their desire to work in their chosen field. Others discover that they do not like a certain career as much as they thought they would. According to Director of Secondary Education Judy Kissinger, either outcome is beneficial because one of the purposes of Job Shadowing is to help students make informed decisions about their future.
Employers interested in participating in the Job Shadowing Program should contact Pam Kempthorne, career development coordinator, at (909) 381-1180.
