Mayor Ronald O. Loveridge will issue a proclamation tomorrow declaring June 14 "Army Day" for the city.
The proclamation takes place at 1 p.m. in the Mayor's Ceremonial Room, on the Seventh Floor of City Hall, 3900 Main Street.
Several Army-bound men and women from the Riverside area will participate in a Future Soldier Swear-In ceremony, witnessed by the mayor, after the proclamation. The ceremony reaffirms their commitment to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States during their upcoming service in the Army.
Saturday, June 14, is the Army's 233rd birthday and the 200th birthday of the U.S. Army Reserve.
