Did you know STD’s are up 50% in Riverside County? And that’s among the over 55 crowd. Yes, sexually transmitted diseases are spreading in senior and retirement communities.

And while teen births are declining, and the infant mortality rate is steadying, we remain a community in need of better health care services, especially reproductive services, sex education, and women’s health advocacy. Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest held its first reception in Riverside at The Mission Inn on Friday to introduce the board of directors, executive leadership team led by CEO Darrah DiGiorgio Johnson, and share upcoming events in Riverside County. It is clear that Planned Parenthood is committed to ensuring broad public access to reproductive health care through direct service, education, and advocacy throughout the county. The organization will be hosting its Riverside County Inaugural Dinner on April 3 at the MiraMonte Resort in Indian Wells.
