[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]U-CAN builds stronger communities by opening up a world of opportunity to students on the West Coast to historically black colleges and universities (“HBCUs”) through a 12 city recruitment fair tour September 11th through September 24, 2016. “We are planning an even better experience this year and we are excited to report that over 25,000 participants will attend this year’s fairs being held in California (Fairfield, San Francisco, Antioch/Pittsburg, Oakland, Sacramento, Vallejo, Los Angeles, Rialto, Moreno Valley, and San Bernardino) and Las Vegas, Nevada”.
“Being an HBCU graduate, and having chosen Xavier University as my school during a U-CAN recruitment fair said “Drew Pearson”, I know the importance of exposing students to the various campuses. By having the opportunity to receive preliminary “on-the-spot” admissions, scholarships, financial aid information and face-to-face exposure with many of the most respected historically black institutions of higher learning within the United States was priceless”.
U-CAN’s College Fair is an overwhelming success for many students who receive on the spot admissions and scholarship offers. Representatives from more than forty of the countries’ leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/XpufUCKnQSQ”][vc_column_text]At each of the 12 fairs official representatives for the colleges and universities will be recruiting college bound students on-site during the two-weeklong event. Interested high school and college students will have the opportunity to receive preliminary “on-the-spot” admissions, scholarships, financial aid information and face-to-face exposure with many of the most respected historically black institutions of higher learning within the United States.
A partial list of participating colleges includes: Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Benedict College, Clark Atlanta University, Dillard University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Johnson C. Smith University, Morehouse College, Morgan State University, North Carolina A & T State University, South Carolina State University, Texas Southern University, Tuskegee University, Virginia State University and Xavier University of Louisiana, among many other colleges and universities. Each college fair event is free and open to the public and all students.
