Overview: The question of whether President Trump is a racist has been raised following his decision to deploy armed National Guard Troops and ICE Agents to cities with Black mayors. The author defines racism as treating people of different races, religions, sexes, ages, physical and mental abilities differently in employment, pay, healthcare, housing, justice, political power, education, and other benefits. They cite a speech by the late Senator Harry Reid, who labeled Trump as a racist, and question whether Trump’s actions are motivated by racism or are merely politically motivated. The author concludes by asking readers to decide for themselves.

A few weeks ago a friend asked me the question, ‘Is President Trump a racist?’
In the past few days I decided to put some thought into that question, after the president put armed National Guard Troops plus armed, mask wearing, and unidentified ICE Agents in Los Angeles and Washington D. C., with plans to put them in Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Oakland, etc. where the mayors are Black.
A person is described as racist if they hold the belief that people of another race are inferior to their race with less human traits and intellectual capacities. The person usually expresses that belief through racist expressions that are followed with racial discrimination and at times, killing members of the minority race.
Racism I describe as a disease where a person treats a person of another race in employment, pay, healthcare, housing, justice, political power, education and other benefits differently than he/she treats those of the white race. In America this disease is carried mostly by the white male population and is used against the Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Indians, women, Jews, Muslims and members of other faiths. I call a person who does this type of discrimination a Practitioner of/in Racism.
Whether Trump is or is not a racist I will inform you of what I know and you can decide for yourself. I found a speech given by the late United States Senator Harry Reid, from Nevada, which begins like this in the Senate Congressional Records:
“RECOGNITION OF THE MINORITY LEADER, Mr. REID. Madam President, virtually every time Donald Trump says or does something discriminatory—and that is often—the media relies upon a catalog of buzzwords to describe his actions. The press uses words like hateful, intolerant, bigot, extremist, prejudice, to name but a few. Yet there is always one word that many of the press conspicuously avoid: Racist. They never label Trump as a racist, but he is a racist. Donald Trump is a racist. ‘‘Racist’’ is a term I don’t really like.
We have all, with rare exception—I don’t know who it would be—said things that are not politically correct, but I don’t know of anyone, when that happens, who doesn’t acknowledge it and, if necessary, apologizes quickly. But Donald Trump doesn’t believe the racist things he does and says are wrong. He says them with the full intent to demean and to denigrate. “That is who he is,”end of quote. You can read the full speech by clicking here.
Now, add to what Trump is doing with placing National Guard Troops in cities where the mayors are African-Americans and the crime rates are going down and there is no civil disturbance like there was on January 6th, 2021. On that day, white insurrectionists destroyed property and killed police officers, threatened to hang Vice President Mike Pence, took over Congress and Trump watched it on television as president. And even though he was the sitting president with the same power and authority he has today, he did not send in troops after every one called him requesting him to send help.
You can decide for yourself if Trump is a Racist or a Practitioner of/in Racism…
