In a much anticipated Big 10  battle between two storied NCAA football programs, USC and Michigan, the Trojans were a little short on running backs. Due to recent injuries to Eli Sanders and Waymond Jordan, Coach Riley gave freshman ‘walk-on’ running back King Miller an opportunity, which proved to be pivotal in their 31-13 win at the Coliseum.

The Trojans marched down the field on their first possession scoring on 11 plays for 75 yards on a touchdown pass from quarterback Jayden Maiava to Ja’Kobi Lane to start the offense. Maiava was an efficient 25 of 32 on the day for 256 yards. Then came the freshman King Miller who had a phenomenal game with 158 yards on just 18 attempts for a nearly nine yard average per carry, plus a touchdown. Miller was honored as the Big10 “Freshman of the Week”.

USC improved to (5-1) on the season.
