The Daniel Dexter story is one that is all too familiar to members of Black communities everywhere. On the sunny afternoon of June 1, 2022, 22-year-old Daniel Dexter and his brother, Daelyn, were struck by bullets from a passing car as they played basketball at a neighborhood park in the city of Rialto. Their family as well as neighbors who did not know the brothers but came to their aid that day, had their lives forever changed that fateful day. Three months after the tragedy these individuals share their stories of loss, their struggles to come to grips with what they experienced and their efforts to move forward in the wake of such grevious loss.
